building a social networking website is a tremendous amount of work. It takes a real genius to organize the code. It’s best to go with someone with some sort of social networking software to work with. My company won’t be taking on any full social network development jobs any time soon.

LOL . this is funny. I like the picture. I see both sides of this one. Some companies actually should be hiring some help but at the same time they should be doing this stuff themselves, it’s not that complicated. I guess an on staff “social media expert” is the best answer. Sounds like a cool job to me.

I think it’s a good idea to speck with the developer who created the software. Ask what language he developed it in and why? Have you made any major revisions to the software and why? How long ago did you start on the software. How would you code it different if you were developing it again.

I was told by a company that I was lucky that I came to them because they were going to build the network from scratch. Anyways they ended up outsourcing most of my project out. Needless to say there was a lot of wasted time and money. Thanks for the check list of criteria to look for.

I can see how someone would need a professional to help them develop a social media presence. Some business owners are doing no business social networking these people need a professionals help.

I think university social networking websites are going to become the standard. Most of the bigger universities are talking with web developers who specialize in social networking website development. The right company can probably integrate the schools university software into the social software.
